Q: Why does BNW call their selection of outdoor furniture the "Galirondack Collection"?
A: Initially Galirondack was the name we chose for our version of the
New York Adirondack chair and the Eastern Canadian Muskoka chair.
When we added additional models, we needed a name that reflected our complete product line.
Because we build all our models on Galiano Island B.C. from locally grown lumber,
we decided the group name should become the "Galirondack Collection"!
Q: Why does BNW use Select Western Red Cedar to build most of their models?
A: We want our products to last a lifetime. For decades Western Red Cedar has been used for
everything from Roof Shingles & Shakes to Totem Poles because it withstands time and the elements.
It is a wood species also known for its beautiful grain and colour variations
We select only the best western red cedar grown on our Island, insuring what we buy our lumber
from loggers & mills that practice sustainable forestry.
Q: What methods and materials does BNW use to assemble all their models?
A: We use only Stainless Steel Fasteners AND in addition, we use a powerful Waterproof /Stainable Glue
that is stronger than the wood itself.
Q: Will BNW finish/seal my model(s)?
A:The simple answer is YES! If you order your chosen model "Finished", for a modest up-charge,
we will apply one coat of a clear DALYS SEAFIN SHIP'N SHORE penetrating Waterproof Sealer,
a product that penetrates and seals the wood, brings out the beautiful grain & colour and will not peel off in years to come.
Other Finishing Options:
1) You may choose to apply the Sealer yourself. BNW offers quarts of DALYS for $50.00
2) You may choose to allow Mother Nature to gradually GREY the wood over time.
3) You may choose to Stain, Varnish or Paint your new Galirondack product(s) to suit your individual taste.
Q: Can any of your models be made in a Knock Down format to allow me to take home in my car?
A: Yes,
the Galiano and Gossip chairs are available in two RTR formats, "RTR" Take Home & "RTR" Ship. "RTR" means Ready To Reassemble.
The "RTR" Take Home format allows you to take the chair home in most car sizes.
In the "RTR" Ship format we package all the parts in a strong carton for shipping almost anywhere.
For both formats, we fully assemble the model and then we break it down into a minimum number of parts, making it easy for you to reassemble the chairs.
Easy to follow instructions are included. Only one tool is required to assemble your chair, a common 7/16 inch wrench.

Q: Does BNW warrant their products?
A: Yes, we offer a 5 year warranty on all our models. Our warranty covers any defects in the manufacturing process. We do not cover normal wear & tear.
Q: How strong are the BNW chairs, benches, rockers & lounges?
A: We have tested them repeatedly and found them to withstand weights of well over 250 pounds.
Q: If I place an order with BNW, how long before my model(s) are ready for pick up or delivery?
A: If we do not have your model in stock, our normal delivery would be approximately a week to ten days.
Q: What are BNW's Product Improvement Policies?
A:BNW reserves the right to make product improvements or modifications without any obligation to incorporate these changes in previously built models.
How does BNW "give back" to the Galiano Community?
We support several local Charitable Organizations by donating products which they auction off to raise funds for their many worthy causes.
